About

TriStar Baptist

TriStar Baptist Church is a new Independent Baptist Church plant located in Nashville, TN. We believe the fundamentals of the faith. Our church strives to advance with God in a world full of satanic advances. God is always advancing, even when we do not see it! As children of God, we are on the winning side! Advancing with God in this present evil world is something that can only be done by faith; without faith it is impossible to please God (Heb. 11:6). There are three major ways our church advances with God by faith:

  1. We are Faithful to the Word of God Deuteronomy 4:2

  2. We are Faithful to the House of God Hebrews 10:25

  3. We are Faithful to the Gospel of God I Thessalonians 2:9

Philosophy of Ministry

As church planters, we believe the biblical example of a church planter is to be sent out from a local New Testament church and should only be supported by churches of “like precious faith.” Fair Havens Ind. Baptist church, under the pastorate of Steve Goforth, will be our sending church. Additionaly, our philosophy will be that of the first century church. We are not going to Nashville because Nashville needs a church, although they certainly do, we are planting a church in Nashville because souls need to be saved and God has called us there. Matthew 16:18 will be our philosophy; “And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” There are two elements to building a church, the human instrument and God. God builds, we obey his commands. We will do as Peter did and profess that Jesus is the Saviour, seeking to win souls, and God will give the increase! I’m of the opinion that there are two ways to build a “church.” One way is God’s way and the other is mans way. One way is the right way and the other is the wrong way. One way is merely a social club and the other is a true church. One way has the hand of God on it and the other doesn’t. We are talking about the difference between compromise and staying true to the word of God. It can be easy to draw a crowd by adopting worldly standards, but our aim will always be to stay true to Biblical standards. We are not just trying to draw a crowd, we want lives to be changed by the unadulterated preaching and teaching of the word of God. Although we are moving to a city marked with worldliness and defiled religion, it will be my earnest commitment to not allow the world to influence our church, but rather that our church would begin to influence our city, the state, the country, and the world (Acts 1:8).
