What We Believe

Philosophy of Church Planting

As church planters, we believe the biblical example of a church planter is to be sent out from a local New Testament church (Acts 13:2). Furthermore, we choose to only be supported by churches of “like precious faith” (II Pet. 1:1). Fair Havens Ind. Baptist church, under the pastorate of Brandon Redden, will be our sending church. Additionally, our philosophy will be defined by the Bible. The Lord has providentially led us to the Nashville Metro area, recognizing the need for a church that is consistent with the word of God. We are Independent from any ecclesiastical association and Fundamental Baptists by doctrine. Once established, our church will be an autonomous local assembly of baptized believers joined together to carry out the great commission.

Matthew 16:18 encompasses our church planting philosophy; “And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” There are two elements to building a church, the human instrument and God. God builds, we obey his commands by faith. We will do as Peter did and profess that Jesus is the Christ, seeking to win souls, and God will give the increase (Mat. 16:16; I Cor. 3:6). The great commission will be our never ending goal (Mat. 28:18-20). We are not just trying to draw a crowd, we want lives to be changed by the unadulterated preaching and teaching of the word of God.

Although we are planting in a city marked with worldliness and defiled religion, it will be my earnest commitment to keep the world and the devil from influencing and infiltrating our church, knowing by faith that our church, standing true to the word of God, will influence our city, the state, the country, and the world (Acts 1:8).
